There is a change to our parking situation for our meetings.
The metered lot where we have been parking (the old Lynx bus station) has been permanently closed as they prepare to begin construction on the new Fire Dept Center of Operations.
There is a lot adjacent to where we have been parking that has been converted to a metered lot. Access is available off of Garland Avenue, which unfortunately is a one way street.
The easiest way to access the entrance off Garland is to take Church Street to Garland - entrance on your right on Garland right before Central Avenue. The meter should be 75 cents per hour and you must pay at the red meter station (or run risk of a parking ticket - $27).
A good thing about using the meter stations is that you should be able to use a credit/debit card in addition to bills and change! You may also still park in the Central Avenue parking garage but I am not sure of the costs.
Our UCF Building and the City of Orlando are in talks with 55 West Condos about using some of their parking levels for public access. If that becomes available we should be able to park there in the future. For now, this metered lot is only going to make us a walk a little further to our building, which will please all the pro-walkers and pro-runners in our group! :)
